LOS ANGELES, CALIF. (August 4, 2004) — The Attorney General of the State of Ohio has selected PortBlue to provide online continuing education. The web-based applications that PortBlue will develop in collaboration with the Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy will provide continuing education for the State's 37,000 peace officers. Courses include Criminal Case Management and Missing Children Investigations. PortBlue's selection resulted from the success of an online tool it had developed for the State of Ohio in April of this year. This tool helps educate Ohio's 88 county sheriffs on Ohio's new Concealed Weapons law as well as facilitate administration of the law across the state. Using the application, the State of Ohio was able to reduce high training and administration costs as well as implement a new law more quickly and consistently.
PortBlue turns an organization's best people into best practices, leveraging practical know-how at a small fraction of the time and cost of alternatives. Using a robust form of artificial intelligence and knowledge engineering techniques, PortBlue has developed a proprietary software platform offered as an ASP that mimics the way real experts manage business processes and solve business problems. The software dynamically generates solutions for users based on their specific circumstances - just like being in the room with the expert. PortBlue is based in Los Angeles, CA.
